My parents had gone for a wedding in Coorg. This was the first time that my brother and I were left alone at home, all by ourselves. Both of us were very excited. We felt grown up. After my parents left home, my brother and I ate dinner, he went to watch the television and I wanted to see the messages I had received on whatsapp. My best friend, Sharath , had texted me. While texting, I told him that my parents were out of town and that my brother and I were really excited to be home alone. We talked about a few other things and finally we said goodnight to each other and I went to bed.
It was 2 'o' clock in the morning when I heard somebody knock on my door. I was surprised to hear someone knocking on the door at that hour of the night. I cautiously went up to the door to see who it was. I was extremely shocked to see Sharath standing at my door in the middle of the night!
I had told him a long time ago that I wanted to watch the sun rise at Nandhi hills. We had made plans to go there with friends, but my overprotective parents had not let me go along with them. So, here he was! He was here to take me to Nandhi hills. I was still in shock about seeing him at this hour and did not know how to react. He told me that I would not get another opportunity like this because this was my only chance. I woke my brother and told him about the plan and he told me to seize this opportunity as well. I knew my parents would never let me go on a trip like this any other time. I had made up my mind. I decided that I would go with Sharath.
Never before in my life, had I done something like this! I was ready to go in a few minutes. I was nervous, excited and anxious, all at the same time. We went downstairs quietly. The security guards at the gate were fast asleep but to our disappointment, the gate was locked. Sharath then decided that we should go out the way he had entered. We walked stealthily along the shadows of the walls to avoid the cameras in my apartment. I couldn't imagine what my parents would do if I got caught! My heart was pounding against my chest! I thought that the whole world could hear it in the eerie silence of the night.
We went to the part where the compound wall was quite low. He went over the wall first. I threw my backpack over the wall and then he helped me climb up the wall. We were successful in getting out of the apartment without getting caught.
The ride to Nandhi hills was one of the best rides in my life. To feel the cool breeze brush against my face in the moonlit night made me feel so calm and serene. The innumerable stars in the sky were exquisite! We finally reached our destination at five in the morning. I was awe-struck and mesmerized to watch the sun rise over the hills! The view was simply breathtaking! This turned out to be one of the best trips of my life and a day I will never forget, thanks to Sharath and his crazy ideas! I am glad I decided to go with him and I don't regret it at all. I only hope that my parents don't find out and that I don't get into trouble!
