HASEENA

Haseena is a Kannada film.The story is based on a Muslim woman who is rejected by her husband.Her husband is an auto driver.Since they were poor, Haseena also worked as a maid.The couple had three daughters including a daugher who was blind.Since Haseena didn't give birth to a male child,her husband rejects her.He stops coming home and doesnot provide financial support to his family.Haseena comes to know that her daughter's vision could be brought back and starts working day and night to save money for the surgery.Haseena tries to console her husband and bring him back home.but he doesn't come back.She complains about this to the local masjid authorities.But they try to be in favour with her husband .She is negleted by the authorities and they play with her without giving justice. In this movie we can see how a woman is supressed by the dominance of her husband just for a sake of male child.Even though father is responsible for the sex of a new born,woman is blamed as if it is her mistake.This view is applicable even to today's society.It also shows how a woman has to fight for her justice in a men dominated society.
